Artist Bio

Father John Misty is the stage name of Josh Tillman, a singer-songwriter from Rockville, Maryland. After starting out as J. Tillman in the early 2000s and drumming for Fleet Foxes, he adopted his current moniker in 2012 and shifted toward a mix of indie folk, psychedelic rock, and chamber pop. His albums, including Fear Fun, I Love You, Honeybear, Pure Comedy, and Chloë and the Next 20th Century, often feature lyrical wit and sharp social commentary. Tillman, now signed to Sub Pop, has received Grammy nominations and worked with artists like Lana Del Rey and Kid Cudi. Fans of artists like Sufjan Stevens, Andrew Bird, and The National may find Father John Misty’s music appealing.
