Review

Well, I gotta say, "American Beauty/American Psycho" by Fall Out Boy really packs a punch with its big, bold tunes perfect for a stadium full of fans belting out every word. The band kinda mixed things up this time around by throwing in some samples here and there, making the whole sound rich and layered, something you might appreciate more every time you listen.

The album hit it big with its single "Centuries"—heck, that song was everywhere, and for good reason! It snagged a spot in the top 10 and even went 8x Platinum, which isn't too shabby if you ask me. The whole album made a splash, debuting at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200. You know, it's their third album to do that, so they're definitely doing something right.

Critics had a lot to say, mostly tipping their hats to how ambitious "American Beauty/American Psycho" is. It kinda straddles different vibes—from Seventies glitter rock to Nineties alt-rock—while at the same time slapping a unique spin on everything. Sure, not everyone was completely sold, some saying it felt a bit scattered and the louder production overpowered some of the band's finer touches. But when it all clicks? It’s like a nod to a few golden eras of music while staying fresh and new.

Anyway, between those anthem-like melodies and some surprisingly deep digs in the lyrics about past relationships, this album is one to keep on the playlist. It shows how Fall Out Boy can keep changing things up while keeping us all hooked with their catchy tracks. - Mia
