Review

I've always found Dierks Bentley's debut album to be that perfect mix of fresh energy and classic country soul. His voice has this textured, authentic quality that makes every track feel special. 'What Was I Thinkin'' absolutely blew up the charts, and rightly so - that song captures the whole "bad decisions for the right reasons" vibe that I totally relate to! The way he tells stories through his music feels so genuine, without trying too hard to be anything other than himself.

The album has these gorgeous moments of contrast that really showcase his range. I'm particularly drawn to the softer, more vulnerable tracks like 'My Love Will Follow You' that balance perfectly against the more spirited numbers. What makes this album stand out is how he took previously recorded tracks like 'Bartenders, Etc...' and 'Whiskey Tears' and gave them new life, preserving their raw emotional core. He managed to honor traditional country roots while still feeling completely relevant - that's honestly so hard to pull off for a debut, but Dierks absolutely nailed it. - Sienna
