Review
I've got to say, Dawes' 'All Your Favorite Bands' really struck a chord with me. The way they recorded it live in the studio gives it this raw, authentic feel that you don't often hear these days. It reminds me of those nights spent in small, dimly lit venues, where the energy of the crowd and the band just blend together perfectly.
The album's got this beautiful mix of upbeat tracks and more introspective ones. 'I Can't Think About It Now' and 'Right On Time' are standouts for me - they've got this infectious energy that just makes you want to move. But it's not all high energy. Taylor Goldsmith's lyrics on songs like 'Things Happen' and 'Somewhere Along the Way' really dig deep into those post-breakup feelings we've all experienced. It's like he's somehow tapped into my own memories and put them to music.
What really impresses me about this album is how well the band works together. The rhythm section lays down this solid foundation that allows Taylor's guitar work and vocals to really shine. And speaking of guitar work, those unplanned solos on 'Now That It's Too Late, Maria' add this great spontaneous feel to the track. It's clear why this album did so well on the charts - it's got that perfect blend of heartfelt lyrics and skillful musicianship that just draws you in. - Alex
