Review

Creedence Clearwater Revival's 'Cosmo's Factory' is a wild ride through the band's musical playground. Released in July 1970, this album is a freaking treasure trove of rock, blues, and roots music that'll knock your socks off.

John Fogerty and the boys went all out on this one, serving up a smorgasbord of tunes that'll make your head spin. From the rockabilly vibes of 'Travelin' Band' to the soulful grooves of 'Before You Accuse Me,' these guys weren't afraid to mix it up. And let's talk about that 11-minute cover of 'I Heard It Through the Grapevine' - it's like they took Marvin Gaye's classic and dragged it through a swamp, in the best way possible.

This album was a chart-topping monster, ruling the roost in six countries and spitting out six top 5 singles. It's the kind of success that'd make any band green with envy. Recorded at Wally Heider's studio in San Francisco, 'Cosmo's Factory' got its name from the band's Berkeley rehearsal space. Critics might've tried to write CCR off as a singles band, but this album shut them up real quick. It's a testament to Fogerty's songwriting chops and the band's killer performances. If you haven't given this bad boy a spin yet, what the hell are you waiting for? - Chase
