Review
You know, I've been listening to "Yet Not I" by CityAlight a lot lately, and it's really struck a chord with me. The songs on this EP have a way of cutting through the noise of everyday life and reminding me of what's truly important. I remember driving home from work one day, feeling pretty stressed, when "God Is for Us" came on. It was like a weight lifted off my shoulders, you know?
CityAlight has this incredible ability to create worship songs that are both simple and profound. There are six tracks on "Yet Not I," and each one feels like it could be sung in a small group or a massive congregation. I've actually used a couple of these songs in my local church group, and they've been really well-received. "Yet Not I but Through Christ in Me" is particularly moving - it's all about letting go of our own efforts and relying on Christ's strength.
What really stands out to me about this EP is how genuine it feels. The lyrics are steeped in biblical truth, but they don't come across as preachy or forced. Instead, they feel like honest expressions of faith and hope. And the melodies? They're catchy without being overly complicated. I often find myself humming "Ancient of Days" or "Jesus Is Alive" throughout the day. If you're looking for worship music that's both uplifting and accessible, "Yet Not I" is definitely worth a listen. - Alex
