Review

You know, 'Roll On Mississippi' by Charley Pride always takes me back to those lazy summer evenings on my grandpa's porch. Released in March 1981, this album was Pride's twenty-eighth studio effort, and boy, did it show his growth as an artist. The title track and 'You Almost Slipped My Mind' were real standouts, climbing the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and becoming staples on country radio. I remember humming along to those tunes while helping my mom hang laundry in the backyard. Pride's warm, rich voice, paired with those lush string arrangements, painted such vivid pictures of love and heartache. It's no wonder the album hit number 17 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart - Pride had a way of making every song feel like it was written just for you. - Brenda
