Review
Bryan Adams’ fourth studio album, "Reckless," dropped in 1984 and absolutely nailed the art of creating epic, memorable hooks with Adams belting out every track with raw passion. Co-produced by Adams and Bob Clearmountain, this record is like a stadium anthem extravaganza, complete with a blue-collar vibe and some serious storytelling chops reminiscent of Springsteen. Keith Scott’s layered guitar sounds really give the album a rich, full-bodied texture.
"Reckless" cranked out six major hit singles like "Run to You," "Summer of ’69," and "Heaven," all storming the US Billboard Hot 100 and even helping the album snag the top spot on the Billboard 200, selling over 12 million copies. It wasn’t just a chart-topper but also scooped the 1985 Juno Award for Album of the Year and landed at No. 49 on Kerrang!’s "100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums of All Time" list in ’89. The 2014 30th Anniversary edition, with unreleased tracks and a 5.1 surround mix, only cemented its status as a timeless ‘80s rock classic. Overall, "Reckless" perfectly blends pop and rock, delivering radio-friendly hits that still resonate today. - Aiden
