Review

'You Forgot It in People' is a real game-changer in the indie rock world. Broken Social Scene really hit their stride with this one, dropping it back in 2002 and showing everyone what a bunch of talented Canadians can do when they put their heads together.

This album is like a musical buffet, serving up a little bit of everything. You've got your poppy tunes, some shoegaze vibes, a dash of electronica, and even some orchestral stuff thrown in for good measure. It's the kind of album that keeps you on your toes, but in the best way possible. The critics went nuts for it, with Pitchfork giving it a solid 9.2 out of 10. That's no small potatoes in the music review world, let me tell you.

Some of the standout tracks are real earworms. 'Cause = Time' starts off all chill with just a drum beat, then builds up to this epic guitar riff that'll have you air guitaring in no time. And 'Anthems for a Seventeen Year Old Girl'? Man, that one hits different. Emily Haines from Metric lends her vocals to that track, and it's just... something else. The album's got its mellow moments too, especially towards the end, but that just shows these guys can do it all. It's no wonder 'You Forgot It in People' is still considered one of the best albums of the 2000s. If you haven't given it a listen yet, you're missing out, my friend. - Preston
