Review

Let's chat about Broadcast's 'Tender Buttons' - this album is seriously cool. Released in 2005, it's the third studio album from this amazing duo, Trish Keenan and James Cargill. They've really outdone themselves here, mixing up electronic vibes with their classic vintage psychedelic sound. It's raw, it's stripped-back, and it's absolutely fantastic.

You've got to hear how they balance these melodic hooks with electronic noise - it creates this incredible tension that just grabs you and doesn't let go. Trish's vocals are so soothing, perfectly complementing the descending-scale melodies and those quirky drum-machine patterns. And can we talk about the production? It's got this effortless grace that just makes the whole album flow beautifully.

Critics went wild for 'Tender Buttons' when it dropped, and I totally get why. It's bold, it's rewarding, and even though there might not be one standout track, the whole album is just so cohesive and engaging. No wonder it's considered one of the best dream pop and electronic albums ever. Broadcast really pushed the boundaries here, blending electronic and indie rock in a way that's uniquely their own. - Courtney
