Review

Let me tell you about this album called "_Super Tecmo Bo_" by Boldy James and The Alchemist, released in 2021. This duo has come up with something truly unique and relaxing, and I just can't get enough of it. Their sound is super chilled-out, like you're hanging out at a cool lounge with a couple of friends. The Alchemist's production is right on point, with muzak saxophones and lounge basslines that create a laid-back vibe.

The lyrics are really introspective and deep too. Boldy James takes us on a trip through his memories, sharing little glimpses of the people and experiences that have shaped him. There's even some powerful storytelling going on, like when Boldy talks about gang violence in "Moth In The Flame" or the tragic story in "Francois".

Boldy James and The Alchemist have such a great connection, and you can hear it in every track. Their chemistry is so strong, and they really trust each other's choices, like in "300 Fences" and "Guilt". You can feel that they're having a lot of fun making music together.

However, not everyone is sold on this album, and some feel that it's a bit shorter and lighter than they had hoped for. At just 26 minutes, it might feel a little too short compared to their other work. But, despite those critiques, "_Super Tecmo Bo_" is still a super interesting addition to their discography, and I think it's definitely worth a listen if you're in the mood for some introspective and laid-back tunes. - Ava
