"Ants From Up There" by Black Country, New Road is a wild ride that'll leave you breathless! Released in February 2022, this album is a beautiful mix of post-rock, chamber pop, and art rock that'll have you hitting repeat. The band really outdid themselves, creating a unified piece of art that flows seamlessly from start to finish.
I'm totally obsessed with tracks like "Concorde" and "Bread Song" - they're so intricate and layered, it's like unwrapping a musical gift with each listen. And don't even get me started on "Basketball Shoes" - that 12-minute epic is a journey all on its own! It's the perfect closer, tying together all the album's themes and sounds.
What's really cool is how the band drew inspiration from such diverse artists as Arcade Fire and Sufjan Stevens. You can hear those influences woven throughout, but Black Country, New Road still manages to create something totally unique. It's no wonder this album debuted at No. 3 on the UK Albums Chart and got so much love from critics. If you're into music that's emotionally charged and pushes boundaries, "Ants From Up There" is definitely worth checking out! - Ava
