Birdy, born Jasmine van den Bogaerde, is a singer-songwriter from Lymington, Hampshire, England, who rose to fame after winning the Open Mic UK competition in 2008 at just 12 years old. She began releasing music shortly after, blending British folk-pop and indie folk with emotive vocals and piano-driven melodies. Birdy's debut album in 2011, known for the viral cover of Bon Iver's "Skinny Love," achieved chart success across several countries, and she has since released five studio albums, most recently "Portraits" in 2023. Throughout her career, Birdy has collaborated with artists like Rhodes and delivered popular covers, building a reputation for introspective songwriting and heartfelt performances. Her sound often draws comparisons to artists like Aurora, Gabrielle Aplin, and Lewis Watson.
