Review
I'm so obsessed with Beabadoobee's album, "Beatopia" - it's like stepping into a whole new world. The concept is based on a fantastical place she imagined as a kid, and you can totally feel that vibe in the diverse and cohesive sound. From fuzzy rock to classic singer-songwriter and even some psychedelia, Beabadoobee's distinct identity shines through. The album is all about exploring different genres, and it's amazing to see her growth and versatility as an artist. With "Beatopia", Beabadoobee is taking us on a wild ride, and I am here for it.
The album kicks off with "Beatopia Cultsong", a trippy jam that sets the tone for the rest of the record. Then there are tracks like "10:36" that blend indie guitars with a driving drumbeat, giving off major nostalgic vibes. And let's not forget "See You Soon", which is like the soundtrack to your fave 90s coming-of-age movie. Beabadoobee's arrangement skills are on point, especially in "The Perfect Pair" with its adorable bossa nova bounce. It's like she's pushing the boundaries of her sound and having so much fun with it.
What I love about "Beatopia" is how it's all about exploring different styles and moods. Sure, the production can be a bit loud and compressed at times, but that's also part of its charm. When it works, it's pure magic - like in tracks "Talk", "Don’t Get the Deal", "Lovesong", and "tinkerbell is overrated" (feat. PinkPantheress). Beabadoobee's artistic evolution is clear, and she's all about crafting memorable songs that blend different genres. So if you're ready to get lost in a world of imagination and creativity, "Beatopia" is the perfect album to dive into. - Bella
