Review

Bea Miller's sophomore album "aurora" dropped on February 23, 2018, and it's a real turning point for this rising star. Hardcore fans probably remember the EP "chapters" – "blue," "red," and "yellow." Those three beauties, each rockin’ three tracks, led us up to this ever-so-grand international debut. It threw in five newbies too: "motherlove," "outside," "girlfriend," "bored," and "crash&burn." Side note, Bea co-wrote everything—except "girlfriend." That one snagged her heart stylistically, even if someone else penned the lyrics.

The sound of "aurora" blends pop and electro-pop in the best Emilia Lopez kinda way, zeroing in on Bea's emotive pipes and super reflective lyrics. We're talking themes of self-reflection, relationship drama, and all that existential jazz everyone’s vibing with. Critics gave her mad props for the rich vocals and smooth production. “Song Like You” made an entrance on “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” while “S.L.U.T.” lit up MTV's TRL.

If anything, "aurora" manifests Bea's maturity as an artist and a songwriter unafraid to stoke the emotional fires. This album offers an epic look into her life’s next chapter – and the mainstream can't get enough. Keep this one in your rotation and feel the wave of genuineness yourself, adorbs! - Bella
