Review

You know, I remember when 'Funny Girl' first hit the theaters back in '68. Barbra Streisand's voice was like nothing we'd ever heard before. The way she belted out those tunes, it was like she was singing straight to your soul. I'd put on that record and just lose myself in the music, imagining I was right there on stage with her.

The songs on this album, they weren't just your run-of-the-mill show tunes. They had this special quality that set them apart. 'People' and 'Don't Rain on My Parade' became instant classics, and for good reason. But what really got me were those old-timey numbers like 'My Man'. They took you back to a different era, you know? It was like Barbra was channeling Fanny Brice herself. And let me tell you, that Walter Scharf knew what he was doing with those arrangements. He managed to make everything sound fresh and nostalgic all at once. It's no wonder this album became such a hit and is still loved today. - Brenda
