Review
Well, hot dang! Austin Snell's 'Still Bleeding' is the kind of album that'll make you sit up and take notice. This ain't your grandma's country music, honey. Snell's got a way of mixing up country storytelling with a heaping helping of rock 'n' roll grit that'll leave you feeling like you've been run over by a freight train - in the best way possible.
Now, I don't know about you, but I'm a sucker for a good story, and this album's got 'em in spades. From 'Pray All the Way Home' to 'Wasting Mine,' Snell's weaving tales that'll have you nodding along, thinking, "Yep, I've been there." And let's talk about those guitars for a second. They've got a dark, brooding energy that'll make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
'Still Bleeding' is like a shot of whiskey with a beer chaser - it's got that familiar country flavor, but with an extra kick that'll knock your boots off. Snell calls it 'grunge-country,' and I reckon that's as good a name as any for this wild ride. It's the kind of music that makes you want to drive down a lonely highway at midnight, windows down, singing at the top of your lungs. So go on, give it a listen. Just don't blame me if you find yourself with a new favorite album. - Maggie
