Review

Atlas Genius burst onto the scene with "When It Was Now", firing on all cylinders with bright synth splashes and big, indie-pop hooks that could have you grooving on your morning run. From the first track, there’s a bounce in the step and a twinkle in every anthem—just give “Electric” a spin and try not to start dancing in your chair. These guys take a page from the likes of The Killers and Kings of Leon, blending rhythmic guitar work and irresistible electronic gloss into tunes that beg for repeat listening.

Flip the switch to something like “Through the Glass”, and you’ll catch them swapping out glitter for a bit of heart, mixing acoustic warmth into their shimmering recipe. The vocals fly high above polished arrangements, delivering melodies you won’t soon shake loose from your head. Whether or not you crave your indie rock with a touch more scruff, "When It Was Now" pulls you into its youthful energy and leaves you feeling like you’ve just crashed a really good rooftop party. - Milo
