Review

Yo, let's dive into "Strawberry Jam" by Animal Collective! This bad boy dropped in September 2007 and it's straight-up fire. It's their seventh studio album and their first with Domino Records - talk about leveling up!

The vibe on this album is wild, like future-pop meets indie rock in a blender. Panda Bear was all about that visual inspo, saying the album's sound is as sharp and synthetic as actual strawberry jam looks. Tracks like "Peacebone" and "Fireworks" are total earworms that'll have you feeling all the feels.

Deakin wasn't kidding when he said the production was chiseled and shiver-inducing. They took songs they'd been playing live and polished them up real nice, but also threw in some fresh tracks to keep us on our toes. "For Reverend Green" and "Fireworks" are these epic, sprawling tunes that'll make you want to dance and cry at the same time. Critics were all over this album like white on rice - Pitchfork even ranked it 6th in their 2007 list. It's like Panda Bear and Avey Tare are playing tug-of-war with your emotions, and honestly? We're here for it. - Jamie
