Review
'These Two Windows' was Alec Benjamin's first studio album, coming out in 2020 and giving us all those heartfelt, storytelling vibes he's known for. I got lost in tracks like 'Mind Is a Prison' and 'Demons' where he really digs into mental health struggles in that uniquely vulnerable way of his. The musical consistency throughout is pretty impressive - Alex Hope handled most of the production, which explains why everything flows together so nicely. It's like reading someone's diary but set to really catchy melodies!
The folk-pop sound throughout the album creates this perfect backdrop for Benjamin's introspective lyrics. I particularly love how 'The Book of You & I' and 'Just Like You' showcase his talent for weaving personal experiences into stories that somehow feel like they could be about any of us. His voice has that gentle quality that makes even the heaviest topics feel approachable. Honestly, for a debut album, he came out swinging with a collection that feels both deeply thoughtful and completely listenable at the same time. - Bianca
