Review
Released back in 2010 under the labels Razor & Tie and Artery Recordings, A Bullet for Pretty Boy's debut album, "Revision:Revise," is a hearty testament to the metalcore genre. With Cameron Mizell at the helm of production, the album is a showcase of the band's deft fusion of pummeling metalcore guitar work and the combined force of clean melodics and raw screams, all tied together with compelling electronic undertones. Their offering is an ambitious array of ten tracks that doesn't shirk on energy or commitment, amassing a little over 41 minutes of riveting soundscapes.
"Revision:Revise" was met with a warm embrace in the metalcore community, despite some commentary on the potential similarity between tracks. It distinguished itself through impeccable instrumentals and hooks that sink deep, featuring a harmonious blend of the unforgiving edge of metal with the tuneful essence of post-hardcore. A Bullet for Pretty Boy has, with this debut, etched their name in the annals of metalcore not just as a band to watch, but as a distinct voice capable of delivering ferocity and finesse in equal measure. - Erika
