Maroon 5 – Jordi

Review

Maroon 5's "Jordi," which dropped back in June of 2021, sure brings a mixed bag of emotions, y'all. The album's named in memory of their late manager and Adam Levine's childhood buddy, Jordan Feldstein. It's clear they poured their hearts into this project with tributes like the hit single "Memories," which brings a tear to the eye thinkin' about lost loved ones. Beyond just this touching tribute, the album's loaded up with features from a whole slew of artists ranging from Megan Thee Stallion to Stevie Nicks, and even some posthumous appearances by Juice Wrld and Nipsey Hussle.

Now, although the critics weren't all singing its praises, the album still made a decent splash, landing at number eight on the Billboard 200. Sure, it wasn't their best first-week showing, but considering it's their seventh top-ten album since that catchy "Songs About Jane," I'd say they're still riding high. The mix of pop, rock, and R&B keeps things interesting, and it's kinda nice how they commemorate their journey and their growth, especially after such a big loss with Jordan's passing. Maroon 5 keeps evolving, and "Jordi" is a testament to just how resilient and adaptive they've been through the ups and downs. - Mia
