"Once Upon a Time" by Simple Minds is like a perfect blast from the past, taking you straight back to the big hair and bold sounds of 1985. Under the guidance of producer Jimmy Iovine, known for his work with rock legends like Bruce Springsteen, the album packs a punch with a more guitar-heavy sound that deviates from the band's earlier synth-pop style. The transition can particularly be felt in tracks like "Alive and Kicking," making you want to, well, kick alive and swing to the music!

This album climbed the charts with grace, securing the top spot in the UK and marking its turf in the US Top 10 for five impressive weeks. Though the iconic track "Don't You (Forget About Me)" isn't formally part of the album, its influence is a ghost that haunts the tracks with its catchy pop rock spirit.
